Slow Tongue is the debut writing and poetry pamphlet from Olivia Douglass. A verse-essay/lyric essay hybrid examining race, sexuality and the relationship between Black women artists. 'Slow Tongue' is a response to the writings of M. NourbeSe Philips 'She Tries Her Tongue Her Silence Softly Breaks', and works to continue the decolonisation of language and imagery.
Each piece may be taken individually, but it is through looking at their positioning amongst each other that something more comprehensive, provocative and challenging comes together.
